AMY STACEY & RUBY TASTE DOUBLE VICTORY AT THE AUGUST SHOWJUMPING EVENT
With the competition kicking off early this morning and as nine competitive entries took to the YEC Quarry Arena to contest the 85cm class, FEI Level I course designer Gemma Womersley of YEC created the technical track that featured some tricky turns and double combinations that tested many riders throughout the day. Three entries managed a clean round, but it was Amy Stacey and Ruby that snatched the top prize.
Stacey had excellent success today, later earning a top placing in her next class, the 95cm.
Maddy Brown and Sparky delivered an economical, clean round in the 75cm, stopping the clock at 39.17 seconds, more than 12 seconds ahead of the class!
After a setback in the week, Ebony Taylor and her black mare Sandyford Girl resumed their usual stride and took the lead in the pony section with a competitive clear in a time of 51.67 seconds!
Just behind Taylor and Sandyford Girl were Becca Watson and her bay gelding Jack. Watson and Jack took a very tidy turn to the skinny to fly through the rest of the course stopping the clock at 54.21 seconds.
A quiet class in the 55cm produced a very tidy round from Lisa Scott and Bellarina Daydream to win their section.
John Avison and his bay gelding, Cruise brought yet another sharp round leading the 65cm by more than 3 seconds.
