Classes are jumped in our 60mx45m 'Quarry Arena' with it's fantastic All-weather Fibrelok Sports Surface.

We offer plenty of warm up and cool down areas.

Food and Drink available throughout the day.

Classes

Warm up - Indoor 20x40m with sand, rubber and fibre surface
Hacking tracks both on grass and woodland, great for sharper or young horses.
Plenty of shelter in wet weather.

After listening to some thoughts of our riders Team YEC have been brainstorming and would like to introduce a new SJ series at Yorkshire EC 

SHAPE-UP SHOWJUMPING
Competition Training for all! 


Each class is mixture of heights on a take your own line basis training class. 
Only jump the jumps you want as many times as you want - Each rider gets 5 mins in the arena. 

£8 inc rosette to all. You can enter more than once just no more than 3 rounds per horse. Assistance/suggestions/tuition available in your round if you wish - no eliminations or faults. 

Competition attire not required. Just up to current standard hat and suitable footwear and arms covered.

A great, laid back way of seeing if you're ready to step up a class without the pressure of a full course at that height or just gain more confidence, mileage and experience, maybe practice your jump-off turns too in a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere in one of the most unique arenas in the country. Make it as easy or challenging as you like. 

Entries on the day but where possible please text or Facebook message YEC the day before so we can gauge numbers for approx class time enquiries. 

Start 9.15am 

Class 1 - 45-65cm X-poles no oxers no fillers
Class 2 - 65-75cm inc verticals - some fillers to sides and some oxers
Class 3 - 85-95cm
Class 4 - 1.00-1.10m
Class 5 - 1.10-1.20m

Entry fee £8 per class plus £1 All day First Aid cover per rider

Shape-Up will run exactly the same as a 'normal' SJ event i.e turn up, enter and get your time slot, walk the course and get and idea of what you want to do in your round and warm up. When it's your turn, you play rather than 'compete'. If you need some help, assistance, tuition, confidence and reassurance, our Coaches are there - just ask even if you'd just like some course riding advice. If you don't then, just have some good fun and schooling. You can also have your own instructor if you wish 👍

Rules

Health and Safety and Entry Conditions

No responsibility will be accepted by the organisers for anything that may happen to competitors, onlookers or their property, helpers or horses in connection with or arising out of this show. It shall be considered a condition of entry that each entrant agrees to indemnify the promoters against any legal action arising therefrom

The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry and to amend the details of the schedule if the programme requires and to cancel any class with insufficient entries.

  1. ALL cash prizes and qualification cards must be collected from the show office on the day. We will not hold them after the day and will be forfeited if not collected. 

  2. Correct show attire must be worn. ie light coloured jodphurs or breeches, show or hacking jacket. Competition boots or chaps, no yard/country style boots). Arms must be covered at all times. Riding hats must comply with current safety standards. Body protectors are preferred but not compulsory. Long hair must be tied up securely.

  3. Competition run under BS/BE/BD rules as guidelines. Horses may compete in a maximum of 3 classes.

  4. All horses must be vaccinated and deemed fit and sound to compete. The Judge reserves the right to not allow a horse thought unfit or unsound to compete, entries will not be refunded. 

  5. Young horses, horses known to kick and stallions must wear appropriate ribbons in their tails. 

  6. Stallions must be clearly identified, have public liability insurance and be handled and or ridden by a responsible adult not child at all times.

  7.  Whips must not exceed 45cm.

  8. All riders must be on time to compete.

  9. No outside help is permitted whilst competing in your round.

  10. Please use the Centre and facilities with politeness for others and to staff, no bullying or abuse will be tolerated and the organisers reserve to right to refuse entry to the Centre or ask any persons to leave the centre immediately if such behaviour is shown.

  11. No horses must be left unattended tied up to the side of trailers or horseboxes.

  12. Please pick up litter and place in the bins provided and keep the parking area as free from hay and droppings as possible. There is a muck barrow for your use near the parking gate.

  13. All entries booked and not taken must be paid for – no entries will be refunded unless the class is cancelled.

  14. Please keep all dogs on a lead and clean up after them. Any dog causing disruption will be asked to leave.

  15. The decision of the judge will be final – any objection should be made to the Secretary, together with a deposit of £20 which will be forfeited if the objection is not upheld by the Organisers.

  16. All spectator or grooms vehicles must be parked in the designated area and NOT with the horseboxes and trailers.
